A District Goes Digital — Building Kurigram's First Structured Local Information Hub
A responsive directory and local info platform designed for Kurigram, Bangladesh—built to help people find services, emergency contacts, and verified listings quickly with clear navigation.

Context & Objectives
Design a useful, searchable hub for a local community—not just a website.
Kurigram.info was planned as a central place where residents and visitors can find relevant local information and browse businesses without digging through scattered sources. The key objective was to make discovery fast: clear categories, scannable listings, and an experience that feels trustworthy and easy for everyday users.
The UI/UX direction focused on mobile-first browsing, simple navigation, and a CMS-friendly layout that supports frequent updates as new businesses and information are added.

Problem Statement
Local discovery fails when information is scattered, outdated, or hard to browse.
People searching for a service often don’t have time to click through multiple pages or social posts. If categories aren’t clear or the layout is too dense, users drop off quickly—especially on mobile.
The challenge was to create a structure that supports quick “find and decide” behavior while still offering enough detail for confidence (business name, service type, basic info, and a clear next step to contact or visit).

Information Architecture
Keep the sitemap minimal, but make directory discovery feel deep.
A sitemap built around real local intent: find, explore, read, and connect.
The IA prioritized the most common tasks first—view all listings, search by area, read helpful posts, and reach emergency information—while keeping participation options (“Join Us”) clearly visible for growth. Each page was designed to support a single primary action to keep users moving.
Sitemap: Home, All Listing, Blog, Explore Upazilas, Services, Emergency, Contact, Join Us—structured for fast discovery and repeat visits.

Solution Strategy
Create a scalable UI system for listings, locations, and urgent information.
I designed responsive screens with consistent components for cards, categories, listing details, and CTAs—so the platform can expand without redesigning every page. UX decisions focused on quick scanning, clear filtering pathways, and direct access to high-importance pages like Emergency and Contact.
The result is a clean, location-driven directory experience that supports both exploration and action—helping Kurigram.info become a practical digital utility for the community.
